Dolphin's Cove

"Come on Emma! We're gonna miss the good waves!" Shouted the surfer as he called out to his girlfriend. "I'm coming Chris! I just have to finish waxing my board first!" Said Emma as she continued waxing her own surfboard. These two young surfers are Emma and Chris. Emma is a beach beauty, tall, blond headed, blue eyes, perfect figure, smart, and above all, kind. A girl anyone would be lucky to have. Chris is fairly common looking for guys. Brown hair, about the same height as Emma but slightly taller, green eyes, a tan from spending hours surfing the waves of the west coast, a well toned body and to describe his personality, easygoing. They both love to surf which is their main activity together. That's what they're getting ready to do now.

"OK! I'm ready! Let's hit the surf Chris!" Said Emma with an air punch. She walked off the porch and handed Chris her canary yellow surf board. "Took you long enough…" Mumbled Chris as he placed their surfboards on the rack an top of the Jeep that Chris owns. "There. Feel better?" Asks Emma as she plants a kiss on Chris' cheek. "A little… But I'd feel even better if I got another one." Said Chris with a smile. "Maybe. If you get us to the beach before all the waves die down that is." Said Emma returning the smile. With that they got in the Jeep, turned up the radio and left to go surfing.

Chris and Emma had a special place to go surfing. A small cove that was called Dolphin Cove by the local residents. It's a slightly out of the way place, with white sand, palm trees, and the waves are almost always perfect. When Chris and Emma got to Dolphin Cove, they were surprised to see about 20 other people there. Since Dolphin Cove is an out of the way spot, it's odd to see many tourist at this location. But Chris and Emma didn't mind, the beach is big enough for everyone. As long as they could catch some good waves they would be happy. They were a little curious though, how did so many people find out about this place? As they began to walk to the surf, they got their answer. They found a flyer sticking out of the sand. The flyer read, 'Beach Party At Dolphin Cove! Come and catch some radical waves!' They both looked at each other perplexed. Neither one of them had ever heard of any sort of a party happening at Dolphin Cove. "Well I see the beach… But I don't see a party." Said Emma as she scanned the area for anything out of the ordinary. The only things she saw that were out of the norm were the overweight tourist attempting to surf. Chris looked around and pointed out a small straw hut that had a colorful sign that said SLUSHIES! With a picture of a kid with a blue drink on it. This didn't belong on the beach and it certainly wasn't there the last time they came to surf. Chris and Emma, like everyone else in Dolphin Cove that day, had to check it out.

When they got to the hut they saw one man working in it. He was wearing a black shirt with a white star in the center of it. He had black hair, a griffin tattooed on his right arm and was handing out slushies. Chris and Emma walked up to see what else this man might be selling and the man behind the counter greeted them. "Hello there! You two want a slushie? Only two bucks." Said the man. "When did you set up here?" Asked Chris while he looked at the various flavors of slushies. "I set up for the beach party, but it looks like everyone else is late. Oh, I'm Griffin by the way." Said Griffin with a smile. "Are you gonna take down this stand after today or is this your permanent location now?" Asked Chris, who was getting curious and thirsty.
"Chris! Leave Mr. Griffin alone. He's just trying to make a living. Besides, I like slushies." Said Emma as she turned to Griffin. "Could I get a grape slushie please?" Emma asked Griffin. "Sure and to answer your question, I will take this stand down as soon as my business today is done." Griffin said as he mixed purple liquid with the crushed ice. Griffin handed the slushie too Emma who proceeded to take a big sip through the straw. Chris couldn't help it after seeing his girlfriend enjoy her drink so much, he asked Griffin for a cherry slushie. Griffin turned briefly and in a few seconds a cherry slushie was mixed and ready. "These are on the house you two." Said Griffin with a slight gleam in his eye. "Thanks!" Chris and Emma told Griffin at the same time. With that they turned around and began walking to the shore. Both of them drinking their slushies.

Emma finished her slushie first and threw it in the trash, Chris finished a second later. "Man! That might be the greatest slushie I've ever had! We should get another on later!" Chris told Emma as he threw his own cup away. Emma nodded in agreement and with that they walked to the surf with their boards. Emma and Chris caught some great waves and surfed for about an hour when they took a break. They just sat on their boards and talked. The waves making the water around them roll, the ocean wasn't that choppy or anything, just enough to make you stay focused. "Hey Emma, check it out." Chris said as he pointed to all the tourist and one or two locals were doing the same as them. They all had stopped and were resting on their boards as well, but there was something different about the tourists. Most of them were clutching their stomachs as if they were seasick. "What's wrong with them?" Said Emma with concern in her voice. "I don't know, but let's paddle over and see if we can help them." Chris said as he started to paddle his surfboard over to the group of newbie surfers.

Suddenly Emma, who was following Chris on her board, rolled into the ocean. "Emma!" Chris yelled as he leapt in the water after her. When Chris had closed half of the distance between Emma and him, he suddenly felt a wave a nausea flow through him. He looked at his hands and saw that they were shrinking. His entire body was shrinking. The bones in his spine and arms and legs in particular. Years of abuse in the rough surf were being worn away and shrunk. Chris let out a gasp as he felt his spine crack painfully, with similar cracks from the rest of his body as well. The next thing to change was Chris's legs. His legs began to pull together and fuse. His feet flattened out to form a strong tail for swimming, the process feeling like his feet were being run over by a tiny steamroller. His arms went through a similar process and flattened out into flippers with the same feeling that he experienced with his feet. His body also changed shape. Chris' chest swelled out slightly and became streamline and smooth. His surf cloths melting into his body as his skin began to change. First his hair fell off then a wave of smooth gray flesh worked it's way up his body starting from his feet. Chris felt a hole cave in on his neck and realized he couldn't breath. This was quickly remedied though as his organs painfully shifted and adapted for his new anatomy. The changes sped up and Chris felt his ears dissolve as the rest of his head transformed. Chris' teeth filed themselves down and sharpened slightly as his nose and elongated into a bottle neck shape.  The transformation was all but finished as Chris' eyes became wider and changed color, his vision going from cloudy to crystal clear. The final step was all the information and instincts that came with this new body rushed into his brain. It felt too Chris like his head would explode at any second but it never did. The changes were complete now. Chris had turned into a dolphin.

Chris opened his eyes after he realized that the pain was gone. He began to flip his tail in the water and found he was a natural with it. He was contemplating what all this meant when he heard clicks and whistles coming near him. He was shocked to realize he understood what they said. "Chris? Is that you?" He recognized the voice as Emma's. He turned in the water gracefully and saw another sleek dolphin swimming toward him. He sent some clicks of his own to the approaching dolphin. "Emma? I think it's you anyway…" It is you Chris! Isn't this great?" Said Emma as she did an underwater flip. "What happened to us Emma? I mean people don't just turn into dolphins and what about all the other people who were surfing? Did they change too?" Chris asked as he watched Emma glide through the water. "Yeah they changed too. And who cares? This feels great! Come on try out your new body!" Said Emma as she swam circles around Chris. "I have to admit that this does feel normal… Oh who am I kidding. It feels wonderful!" Chris told Emma as he played around the water. "I told you so! Now lets go the others need a leader and you're the best choice." Emma clicked as she and Chris swam into the deep, to be together in their new life.

Griffin was standing on a rock jutting out from the sand, wearing his usual black coat, saying to himself, "That is the last time I cosplay! I hate peeling off that fake tattoo!" He sighed and thought, 'Well, that was 23 people I changed. A new record, the boss should be happy with the chaos that will make. Now I can go get something hot and chocolaty,  where to go for it though?' Griffin started to walk into the shadows to go find something sweet when he remembered the slushie shack. "Better get rid of that, no sense in leaving evidence. I should get rid of the flyers too." Griffin thought aloud. Griffin snapped his fingers and the shack and every single flyer turned into sand and blew away in the ocean breeze. He then walked into the shadows and disappeared.
I wrote this one sort of quick and it really shows I think. But I believe I've written worse. *Looks back at The Authors Realm* I did add something to my character Griffin though. Who is his boss? Hmm... Hope you guys enjoy my medicore work and I'll catch you later!

By the way if anyone sees any mistakes let me know and I will fix them. Like I said I wrote it in a hurry. So sue me!
